The False Self and the Real Self

For as long as history existed there was always a struggle between dark and light, evil and goodness, ignorance and wisdom, urgency (stress) and relaxation.

There are countless aspects to the complex human individual. I am going to put all these complex parts under the general categories of dark and light, and as the divided self verses the whole self, the hurried, impatient self verses the timeless Self.

All emotional pain, all hurt is caused by the fragmenting of the whole Self and all the struggles that come from it. The dark self or ego is like the moon of fear and selfishness that eclipses the timeless Light of God that radiates only love, beauty, and pure joy. What one then has is a shadow or shadow self that is an impostor, maya or the devil, that pretends to be the real Self but is actually in comparison to the real Self a great deluder, a highly dangerous deceiver, a mischievous miss-leader, and at best a very poor imitation of the real Self.

The self of separation is the self of fear that blocks out the love, glory and joy of the whole, non-dual oneness of God. Why does it even exist if one can be so much (in fact infinitely) better off without it?

Negative evolutionary forces, materialism, the limitations of time, and physical worldliness have unfortunately forced it upon nearly all pure souls incarnating into the world in this age. It is caused by the physical laws of time and nature and from an overall negativity fed to children by their parents, teachers, friends, society and the mass media, all resulting in great fear and stress.

Modern education is too good at teaching one how to be rushed, materialistic, depressed and stressed out rather than how to be happy, spiritual, fulfilled, carefree and relaxed. Notice how naturally happy children are and then compare them to most adults! Only after they die do they become really happy again.

Society has become incredibly materialistic, fast-paced, noisy, toxic and complicated and many demands, stresses, etc. are forced by society on every individual who must participate. Desires, unhappiness, possessiveness, loss and pain, impatience, and urgency all are aspects of the false self superimposed on the real Self by materialism that keeps one limited and separate from the illumination of the real, timeless Self.

One of the greatest robbers of one’s unity with God (joy, love, wholeness) is the urgency of time and never seeming to have enough of it. How can one ever feel happy if one always feels rushed, stressed or hurried? Like a painting, musical composition or other great work of creativity that requires months of careful work, it would be impossible to complete or perfect it within a few days or moments. One would also feel terrible trying to complete something within moments that obviously needs months of skillful attention.

Try to live a lifetime in one day. In contrast, have a sense of infinite time, that you have forever to complete a painting, live your life, or whatever you want to create, then it becomes a great joy, a love rather than something to stress over. Knowing that one is an immortal soul having forever to fulfill one’s desires or destiny is a very good feeling indeed. Therefore become timeless, and through timelessness, one finds unified, joyful, peaceful wholeness.

How would one go about releasing one’s self from the chains of the ego, or false self? By knowing one’s inner being more clearly and noticing where one is coming from, or what part of one’s self is being “lived in” or used to experience life from. When living from a much more timeless, “location-less” or universal sense of self, one is getting closer to the Source.

Any limiting or localized concept of self within the restrictions of space-time is the false self, because the real Self cannot be defined or conceived or pin-pointed into any particular age or area of time or space. The real Self is pure, timeless consciousness which is the inconceivable Observer of the presence within. It is a oneness without a second. It is just pure oneness. There can be great love and harmony whenever there is consciousness of oneness through timelessness.

One has to learn how to know the difference between the two parts of one’s psyche, and to eliminate the false sense of separation from the real Self of timeless inner peace, joy, love and happiness. By focusing on oneness instead of “two-ness” or separation, by tuning into the reality of this harmonious oneness instead of the “two-ness”, “three-ness” , etc. through hours of deep meditation, one becomes free.

Wherever there is anything other than oneness there is the potential for confusion and conflict, separation and hopelessness. One’s personal power gets diluted, cut off from its source and great fatigue, depression and anxiety occurs.

The secret lies within the unity of self, through removal of all selfishness and sense of separation from God, and the removal of the false sense of self which is a sense of effort, of attachment, limitation, and urgency of desire or boredom/impatience. The secret is to “feel good” (God) and that can bring endless blessings of abundance and prosperity into one’s life. One becomes what one thinks and/or focuses on.

It is far better to focus on a timeless oneness instead of identifying with a localized “two-ness.” The habitual sense of being rushed or stressed out is the main thing that feeds the negative ego which is an effect or delusion of the dark or false self within. Therefore the dark ego is a manifestation of the individual trying to adapt to all the limitations that the physical (materialistic) pressures of space and time places on the individual. One needs through meditation to develop a constant awareness of timeless peace, love and joy, while somehow still remaining functional in the world. Tricky business but definitely worth mastering.

“The Hidden Treasures Are Within”

Uncover the Hidden Treasures in Your Self Through Meditation

Imagine a love so complete, a state of consciousness so full of joy, a lasting pleasure so native to one’s soul; what grander thing is there than wholeness?

TO REALIZE SPIRIT IN ONE’S LIFE IS VITAL FOR ADDING MEANING TO WHAT WOULD OTHERWISE BE A MEANINGLESS AND MATERIALISTIC EXISTENCE

This amazing ebook is a compilation of fifteen inspirational chapters regarding how to find wholeness, how to meditate deeply, how to choose your spiritual path, and how to discover within your self the hidden treasures of wholeness for living a more full and complete life. Although this book includes some passages from the Bible and meditation-oriented information from the “Path of Sant Mat,” this book is purely a spiritual text not meant to promote any specific path or religion.

Most of this ebook will be about why wholeness is so essential and how to achieve it. I believe it is of utmost importance to make one’s search for wholeness one’s highest priority in what would otherwise be a temporary and fickle existence. To realize Spirit in one’s life is vital for adding meaning to what would otherwise be a meaningless and materialistic existence.

Why do so many people go to all the trouble to sit down and meditate? It is to get a sense of wholeness and inner peace and to increase one’s capacity for joy and hopefully gain access to higher realms of spiritual enchantment. A most ideal object of meditation would be the inner sounds and light of God or Spirit, and also one’s highest idea of what one would consider a very heavenly and most pleasant state of being. Real success in life boils down to achieving a genuinely pleasant state of being, as it is one’s state of being that matters the most while learning to avoid the common pitfall of getting too emotionally caught up in “circumstances that don’t matter.”

What is wholeness? Wholeness can mean different things to different people. Everyone’s path and ideal of fulfillment or wholeness is individual. There is no greater thing of beauty, love, excitement, value and joy than the experience of wholeness–the hidden treasure of bliss deep inside every one of us. Being in a state of wholeness means completely free of wound or injury with nothing missing and everything complete, perfect, unbroken, and uncut; perfectly healthy and free of any defect, deformity, mistake or impairment having all its proper parts and components. Another way to describe wholeness is being in a state of undivided oneness or total unity. When someone says one is extremely happy or fulfilled, one could also mean complete and whole or “I am enjoying a state of wholeness.”

Imagine a love so complete, a state of consciousness so full of joy, a lasting pleasure so native to one’s soul; what grander thing is there than wholeness? If God were not whole, God would not be God. Synonyms for wholeness are completion, entirety, fulfillment, haleness, healthiness, integrity, oneness, perfection, totality, and unity. Whole means all, content, intact, perfect, restored, satisfied, total, unabridged, unbroken, uncut, unhurt, and unmodified.

There is nothing more urgent and more important than for everyone in the world to find wholeness, because life should be far more than just a battle for survival. Lasting love and inner joy seem to be the only things that would justify all the tremendous hardships and pains that everyone seems to have to go through. One could say that all the pains, injustices, and other sufferings of the world are because of a lack of wholeness. In contrast is the yogi who sits quietly in breathless samadhi. Why can’t we all enjoy this profoundly enjoyable state of being whenever we desire it? What can be done to make profound inner satisfaction available to everyone?

The quest for wholeness is what drives and motivates everyone. People try to find wholeness either through drugs, in their partners, religion, work, or through some kind of recreational activity. It is a never-ending ongoing process. Life never seems to find it, yet it is clearly the end all and be all of existence. Some of the ways people try to find it are really terrible, while others are not very effective or just temporary. My goal is to create an effective way to a permanent state of fulfillment, wisdom, spiritual freedom and happiness, which, of course is wholeness.

Wholeness is utterly essential yet few directly strive to achieve it. I believe it is of utmost importance to make one’s search for wholeness one’s highest priority in what would otherwise be a temporary and fickle existence. To realize Spirit in one’s life is vital for adding meaning to what would otherwise be a meaningless and and rather pathetic materialistic existence.
