Direct Voice Explained

Leslie Flint's body produced an unusal amount of ectoplasm--far more than the average person. Chemists on the other side used this ectoplasm to design a voice box fashioned from Leslie Flint's vocal cords. Ectoplasm cannot exist in the presence of light, otherwise it would snap back into the medium's body often with such force as to damage the medium permanently.

In the above video, Betty Greene explains what this amazing phenomenon of direct independent voice is for those who are unfamiliar with it. Video generously provided by The New Leslie Flint Educational Trust Channel

Rev. (Church of Spiritualism) Leslie Walter Flint

Betty Greene and George Woods Recorded all Their Spirit Communication Sessions

Betty Greene and George Woods did an exemplary job recording many of Leslie Flint's seances and their resulting collection of paranormal voice recordings spanned about 20 years.

The above videos were selected to give you a clearer conception of the nature of Leslie Flint's work and how he served as a living communication "bridge" or "telephone" between this life and the life beyond. Amazingly enough, many of these communications were recorded on tape so that others may also listen and learn from them while leaving for all humanity, the most elaborate evidence of life after death ever heard.

When Betty Greene and George Woods interviewed the spirits from all walks of life they had the presence of mind to ask pertinent questions such as "how did you pass over" and "how did you find yourself on the other side" and "what is your life and work on the spirit side like?" Most of the spirit communicators were able to answer these questions (and any other questions) in great detail. Betty Greene and George Woods also made a point to get the communicator's name which some of the more evolved spirits were actually reluctant to give. They would reply with "The message is what is important, not the name of the one giving the message."

Betty Greene stated that in order to understand direct voice, it is vital to know about the true nature of psychic phenomena and the fact that all spirit communication must involve a medium. In the case of direct voice, the mediumship is physical and not mental. Mental mediumship involves clairvoyance, clairaudience, impression and inspirational writing. Physical mediumship is responsible for direct voice, transfiguration, spirit photography, materialization, and telekinesis, or movement of objects without physical contact.

In everybody is a substance known as ectoplasm. This substance is the vital life-energy substance found in all spiritually animated life forms, however because a physical medium has an extraordinary amount of this vital, life-sustaining substance, spirits are able to draw from the medium enough quantities of ectoplasm to do amazing things with it, such as provide a living communication bridge between the physical and spiritual worlds. Chemists from the other side are able to fashion from this living substance a replica of the vocal cords of the medium into a voice box, larynx, or what the souls say looks like a greenish "mask" that the spirits from the other side can use to make their thoughts physically audible to the sitters in the room and therefore recordable on tape. In other words, from ectoplasm, was created an "etheric microphone" that can act as a telephone between this world and the next.

If one were able to take an infrared photograph during a direct voice seance, one would see cords of ectoplasm coming from the solar plexus of each sitter and especially from the medium. All the cords would join together into what would appear to be a ball of mist which would be the voice box. The spirit communicator would transmit his or her thoughts through this voice box. By so doing a vibration is created that reaches us as a sound or the voice. In order for their thoughts to even reach the voice box in the first place, the spirit communicators must learn how to lower their vibrations so that they match the vibration of the ectoplasm which is the aspect of spirit closest to the Earth's vibration.

It can only be expected that the spirits' voices may not sound quite like their original voices while they were still on Earth. It may be a little distorted and even biased a little by the influence and limitations of the medium. It is rather like a long-distance telephone conversation having gone through so many relays and satellites, that by the time the signal reaches us, we don't always recognize the person's voice. In other words the voices have to be transmitted via an artificially designed instrument that can oftentimes distort or even allow slightly different words or phrases not originally intended by the communicator in a similar way that a computer with one browser running on its particuar operating system can interpret a certain website on the internet quite differently from another computer running with a different browser on its own operating system.

Leslie Flint's spirit communicators found this contraption very complicated whenever they tried to use it. They must communicate through it by using a great deal of concentration of thought, otherwise the voice box can start to respond to or be taken over by other spirit's thoughts, especially if one gets mentally tired or loses one's focus. It is always of great advantage to the communicator to have a strong personality or better yet to have been in the performing arts, which many of the communicators actually tend to be. In one instance, a spirit's voice with an American accent was suddenly taken over by a different voice with a Scottish accent in mid-sentance by another spirit! The effect was very strange. One can listen to this transition starting at 22:30 on the parnormal voice recording titled: Chopin Flo Ziegfield Jock 5 March 1954.

Of course many people would naturally expect the spirits to sound exactly as they did while still living on Earth, but this is not always possible because of the nature of the voice box having to be fashioned and created from the living vocal cords of the medium and possibly others present in the room. Because communication is done mainly by thought in the afterlife, spirits who have been on the other side for a very long time tend to forget what they sounded like when they still lived on Earth. Try to recreate your own voice by thought and see how difficult that is--especially if you haven't heard what it sounds like for others!

While listening to the tapes, there is one important fact, the spirit voice does not come through the medium, but in mid air about three feet away from him or wherever the voice box has been constructed. Many people have the erroneous idea that the voice comes through the medium or through his own lips. But in direct voice, this is not the case. The voice is completely independent of the medium--that is why it is called "direct voice" or "independent voice" mediumship. Some direct voice mediums go into trance, but this particular medium does not do so and is conscious the whole time. He can often be heard commenting on or communicating with the voices like the rest of the sitters in the room.

The spirits may also be heard breathing rather heavily during the time they are trying to get through. And often they can be heard breathing between sentences. This effect has puzzled quite a lot of people and caused them to question why or what is causing this breathing if they are supposed to be dead. People must realize that being dead does not mean that the spirits are no longer human beings like we are on this side. The habit of breathing between sentences is still present in those who have passed over, especially while being under the influence of Earth conditions as required by the spirits in order to keep their vibration down to ours for communication.

While under the influence of the Earth vibrations, the spirit communicator tends to take on all the habits, conditions, and characteristics of the person right before passing. In other words, if one passed as a child, one would therefore tend to look and sound like a child and if one died in old age, one would tend to come back looking quite old, assuming one is clairvoyant enough to see it. The same effect would also apply to accents, in that the spirit communicator would tend to have the same accent while he or she was on Earth while being subject to those same conditions.

Most physical mediums have a young spirit person attached to them, usually to help raise the vibration of the sitters, and in direct voice, assist spirit communicators in getting through. Leslie Flint has the spirit of a paper boy attached to him called "Mickey" (John Whitehead) who was killed in a road accident. He was usually the first one to come through and give a cheery word of greeting often calling Betty Greene "Aunty Greeney" and Mr. Woods, "Woody" but he would still sometimes call them by their proper Christian names. Mickey would always begin the seance with a few cheery greetings and often humorous, light conversation, and then just as surely as he would begin the seance he would always pop back at the end of the seance to say goodbye. He did all he could to keep everyone'e mood high, keep the flow of the conversations, and cheer everyone up. Some spirits were so apprehensive or inexperienced with the voice box, Mickey often spoke for them.

The medium has been through every scientific test imaginable and the medium had been proved beyond all doubt. Mr. Woods had a great deal of experience with psychic phenomena, and studied it for over forty years. He even had the experience of walking around a room with a materialized form of a spirit during a materialization medium's seance. Mrs Greene had at least eleven years experience with direct voice seance meetings.

The success of the seance depends not only on the mental and physical conditions of the medium and the sitters as well as the emotional harmony between everyone present in the room, but also on the vibrations and atmospheric conditions of the room as well. Sometimes conditions would not allow for spirits to come through at all and there can be various reasons for this. It would not be uncommon for the sitters to sit for an entire hour with the medium and nothing at all would happen. For some reason or other the spirits were not able to get things going. In a blank seance, the sitters are usually to blame for bringing in the wrong conditions into the seance room.

One must always enter a seance with the highest motive and not for just entertainment or with extreme skepticism, doubt or cynicism. Such a vibration or attitude would rapidly disallow the right conditions needed for successful communication. The thoughts and emotions of others are very powerful and can effect the outcome of any seance considerably. Being drunk, intoxicated or having watched something violent or pornographic on TV would be the last things needed to help make a seance successful and even worse, could attract a very low order of negative or "evil" entities.

One may also often hear the medium coughing or sniffing or seeming to suffer a very bad cold. This may be due to the ectoplasm which often gets stuck in his throat and needs to occasionally clear his throat or nose to get it out of the way. But colds were also a common problem with Leslie Flint.

Most important thing of all, it is absolutely essential for all seance room visitors to fully understand that ectoplasm cannot exist in the presence of light, otherwise it would snap back into the medium's body often with such force it could damage the medium permanently if not fatally! Even the slightest degree of light such as the tiny beam from a penlight or even sparks of static electricity could seriously burn the medium's ectoplasm. It is THAT sensitive! Otherwise it could never, ever be able to react to something as utterly subtle as a spirit's focused thoughts. One time a seance (given by David Thompson in Australia) had to be stopped by "Young David's" spirit guide, William Caldwell in order to allow a thunderstorm to go over before resuming it.

Another thing worth mentioning is that after a seance the physical medium feels very tired (and maybe even irritable) having had a great deal taken out of him or her and he or she must immediately go get some rest, refreshment and/or nourishment to replenish his or her energy. The sitters therefore should leave the seance as soon as possible and not hang around the medium and keep him or her talking.

The Scientifically Proven Reality of Life After Death The Scientifically Proven Reality of Life After Death

The Mystery of the Afterlife

What happens after we die? Is there an afterlife? These are enduring questions for humanity. Many find comfort in the idea of an afterlife, but mainstream science focuses on the physical world, leaving questions about the afterlife beyond traditional scientific inquiry. Despite the lack of scientific consensus, the afterlife remains deeply significant for many. This exploration will discuss:

Arguments for and against the existence of an afterlife

Religious and academic beliefs about life after death

Personal accounts, such as near-death experiences

Exploration of the realms of the afterlife

By delving into these perspectives, we can gain a deeper understanding of the mysteries surrounding the afterlife. While a definitive answer may remain elusive for those not familiar with spiritualism, the search itself can be a valuable part of a meaningful life. Additionally, the independent voice of British medium Leslie Flint has provided proof and details regarding an afterlife through his recordings, which could offer more insight than other mediums.
