From both a mystical and analytical direction of approach, the concepts of sacred geometry has always been quite interesting.

Sometimes, those interested in one aspect of sacred geometry would attempt to invalidate those studying another aspect of it. Regardless of whether sacred geometry be used for scientific reasons or mystical enrichment, it can be quite mind-blowing with all its amazingly intelligent and universal interrelationships, mathematical and coincidental designs of precision.

What is the Definition of Sacred Geometry?

There are two ways that sacred geometry can be understood, one from the academic perspective, and another from the spiritual perspective.

The analytical or academic way to define sacred geometry involves the study of the mathematics and calculations discovered within the geometric forms themselves. Much of the geometry discovered seems to happen naturally because they can be found in many living forms and as a result of the laws of nature, such as hurricane patterns and galactic spirals.

The mystical concepts and use of sacred geometry transcend the scientific and analytical formulas through direct conscious realization of these shapes. By visualizing certain three-dimensional shapes, especially moving ones (thereby adding a fourth dimension) greatly expands one’s consciousness.

Use of mandalas in meditation, for example, can lead one to a direct intuitive experience of what the shape actually means universally and in a non-analytical way. Much satisfaction and purpose can come from understanding the designs of creation through the use of sacred geometry.

To fully enjoy the beautiful designs and patterns of sacred geometry, one does not have to be scientist or expert in mathematics. For the average individual who does not concern himself with any particular approach to this subject, sacred geometry can still be appreciated as an art form.
